Makeshift Work Space

Vancouver entrepreneur Monique Cherrie saw an opportunity to open a coworking space in a busy neighbourhood, and asked me to assist in developing the brand. The coworking market was peaking and timelines were tight, but the business positioning was obvious, giving us a jump on the brand strategy.

Monique envisioned a brand identity utilizing bright colours, which went hand-in-hand with the brand personality that we developed around three brand archetypes. One archetype, the Jester, “seeks to lighten up the world.” This connected us to a bright palette, whimsical illustrations, more casual voice & tone—and Monique designing a welcoming workspace that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I partnered with graphic designer Paperclip Creative in realizing the brand identity, mindful of a limited small business startup’s budget. After brand development, we worked on digital strategy, website development, and marketing collateral.

Since the business launch, I’ve updated site content and altered the SEO approach on some services to draw more traffic to the website.
